A flow line spilled approximately 840 gals. of crude oil into a Louisiana marsh on Thursday, the Coast Guard said.

The agency and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are responding to the discharge from a Texas Petroleum Management flow line near Southwest Pass, La.

Earlier this week, an abandoned Hilcorp Energy flow line spilled approximately 4,200 gals. of crude into Lake Grande Ecaille off of Plaquemines Parish, La.

The source of the discharge near Southwest Pass has been secured, the Coast Guard said, and the spill response organization Oil Mop has placed containment boom around the site.

The Coast Guard is investigating.
