Turn Services LLC, Convent, La., on Monday announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of multifunctional inland marine and transportation provider St. John Fleeting LLC, Garyville, La., and its affiliate companies. Terms of the deal were not disclosed 

Turn Services is one of the largest independent fleeting and shifting companies in the United States, offering barge-related services across the Lower Mississippi River and other major waterways.

The company said its acquisition of St. John Fleeting will expand its operational capabilities and strengthen its footprint along the river.

“The acquisition of St. John Fleeting represents yet another step in our strategic focus on providing first-class marine transportation services, including fleeting, along the Lower Mississippi River,” Todd Fuller, president of Turn Services, said in a statement. “We are excited to expand both our operational capabilities and locational offerings to our customers. St. John Fleeting’s focus on providing safe and efficient marine transportation services, combined with its exceptional operational assets, fits perfectly with Turn Services’ core services. St. John Fleeting offers fleeting, transportation, stevedoring, barge repair, and dock transfer services. Located at Mile Marker 140 on the Lower Mississippi River, its facility can accommodate up to 300 barges, including dry, liquid, pressure, dangerous cargo, deck, and oversized vessels.
