SAFE Boats International, Bremerton, Wash., has been awarded a five-year blanket purchase agreement valued at up to $36.4 million to supply patrol boats for U.S. Southern Command foreign military sales programs, the company announced Tuesday.

The agreement covers up to 28 SAFE 3810 Full Cabin Outboard patrol vessels, along with spare parts, training, field service support, and associated equipment.

Production is scheduled to begin in 2027. The first boats will go to the Dominican Republic, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Suriname. The vessels are intended for coastal patrol, maritime law enforcement, and counternarcotics operations.

The package also includes operator training, Ford F-350 support vehicles, and a dedicated field service technician based in the Dominican Republic.

The 3810 is a 38' aluminum patrol boat. The version to be delivered under the agreement has a newly developed cabin configuration, the company said. The boat uses SAFE’s foam-filled collar system.

“This award represents an important milestone for SAFE Boats and an opportunity to further strengthen maritime security partnerships throughout the region,” said Rob Goley, chief customer and revenue officer at SAFE Boats International. “We’re proud to support these nations with proven American-built vessels, backed by the training, technical expertise, and long-term service needed to keep their fleets operating at their best. As a 100% employee-owned company, our team takes tremendous pride in the role our boats play in protecting those who serve and the communities they safeguard.”

The award comes as the company marks its 30th anniversary. Founded in 1996, SAFE Boats is headquartered in Bremerton and also has manufacturing operations in Tacoma, Wash. The employee-owned company has delivered nearly 3,000 vessels to military, law enforcement, and fire and rescue customers worldwide.
