Harvey Gulf International Marine’s LNG offshore supply vessels were named the 2015 Boat of the Year by WorkBoat at the annual Significant Boats awards breakfast this morning.

The Harvey Energy/Harvey Power was chosen from the 10 Significant Boats of 2015. The dual-fuel OSVs were built by Gulf Coast Shipyard Group/Harvey Shipyard Group and designed by Vard Marine.

The awards reflect a time of great technical innovation in the workboat industry, said William Queen Jr., president of the Ocean Marine division of The Travelers Companies Inc. which sponsored the event.

“You see these boats from afar, and you just think it’s another boat. The technology today that’s going into these things is mind boggling,” Queen said. “People lose how technically advanced this sector is."
