Ronald "Ron" Dragg, longtime vice president, controller, and assistant secretary for Kirby Corp., plans to retire during the first quarter of 2027 after more than 30 years with the company. Kirby announced Dragg's retirement in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Dragg informed Kirby of his intention to retire early next year on October 6.

"Mr. Dragg will continue to serve in his current positions during the transition period and will assist the company in ensuring an orderly transition of his responsibilities," Kirby Corp. stated in its SEC report. "The company thanks Mr. Dragg for his 30 years of service and dedication to the company."
Dragg holds finance degrees from both Texas A&M University and the University of Houston. He joined Kirby in October of 1996 as assistant controller-financial reporting. Just over two years later, he was promoted to the role of controller. He has served as vice president and controller since January of 2007. In April of 2014, Kirby added the role of assistant secretary to Dragg's duties.
In his current role with Kirby, Dragg is responsible for preparing financial statements and reports for the SEC and overseeing the company's tax accounting and compliance, budgeting, and payroll.
Retiring in the first quarter of next year will allow Dragg to direct the filing of Kirby's annual report for the year ending on December 31, 2026, according to the company's SEC report.
