The National Vessel Documentation Center (NVDC) has launched a program designed to enroll customers in an automated e-billing program for Certificate of Documentation (COD) renewals.
In the near future, customers enrolled in this program will receive an e-mail one month prior to expiration of their COD, instead of the mailed hard copy of the CG-1280. The e-mail notification will provide a direct link to an online payment system that will facilitate quick and easy payment options (via check, debit or credit card).
Customers interested in enrolling for this service can register by accessing the ‘Renewal E-BILLING’ link on our website at: http://www.uscg.mil/nvdc
In order to successfully register, the 'Last Name' or 'Organization Name', 'five-digit zip code' and 'Official Number (O/N)' information provided during enrollment must match exactly with what is printed on the current COD.
Customers will need to validate their e-mail address by following the directions in the body of the message sent to the e-mail address provided in order to complete the enrollment process.
Agents, and those represented by agents, are not eligible to participate at this time, as this is designed for single vessel owners only, although we are working to provide expanded e-service capabilities.
