Aaron SmithThe Offshore Marine Service Association has named Aaron Smith president and CEO following the resignation of Ben Billings, who led the organization since 2013.
“We are sorry to see Ben go as he has served our organization and members energetically,” said Ben Bordelon, OMSA’s board chairman. “We are excited that Aaron Smith has joined us as our new president and chief executive officer.”
Smith’s background is in government and public affairs, and he most recently served as executive director of the Offshore Vessel Dynamic Positioning Authority, a certification authority for the OSV industry. Before that he served as deputy chief of staff for former Louisiana Congressman Jeff Landry, and worked in other roles on Capitol Hill including with the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and with the Army Corps of Engineers.
Smith is a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University.
