The Coast Guard investigates a lifeboat that was found Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015 from the missing TOTE Maritime ro/ro container vessel El Faro. On Monday, the Coast Guard announced that it believed the El Faro sank after losing propulsion and communications prior to Hurricane Joaquin passing directly over it. The search for survivors was ongoing Tuesday morning, with a National Transportation Safety Board team en route to Jacksonville, Fla. to open a formal investigation into the loss of the ship.
