Senior Editor Ken Hocke recently talked to Wes Bordelon, president and CEO of Bordelon Marine, Lisa Plunkett, executive director of the Susan G. Komen New Orleans foundation and Jason Bozic, director of communications, investment and sponsorship, National Oilwell Varco during the christening of the Stingray 260-class DP-2 ultralight intervention vessel Shelia Bordelon. The ceremony was held at Bordelon Marine Shipbuilders in Houma, La. The 257'x52'x18' offshore service vessel is named for Shelia Harasimowicz, Bordelon’s mother-in-law, a two-time cancer survivor. Bordelon will contribute a portion of the proceeds from the vessel to the Komen foundation, which supports breast cancer research, for up to a year.
