In March, the Columbia River Bar Pilots took delivery of the Astoria, their third pilot boat designed by Camarc in the U.K. and built by Kvichak Marine Industries in Seattle. The Astoria — and her sisters — are 75-footers with 2,800 hp MTUs and Hamilton waterjets.
Astoria, Oregon, is also the home of the Connor Foss, a new in 2012 pilot boat built and operated by Foss Maritime. The Camarc-Kvichak twin-screw design measures 63'x17'.
