A webinar is a virtual program presented live or on-demand on the Internet using PowerPoint presentation or shared desktop for the visual portion and a land-line telephone connection to provide high quality audio portion. Typical webinars are 30-45 minutes in presentation time, with 15-30 minutes for question and answer segments.
What are the presenter's responsibilities?
- Provide a PowerPoint presentation to be used for the visual part of the webinar. This must generally be submitted two weeks in advance of the program.
- Provide a quiet room (in your office or wherever you prefer), a computer with Internet capabilities and a land-line phone connection to present the webinar. A toll-free number will be used for the phone connection, so the presenter incurs no costs.
- Participate in at least one short webinar training. The presenters’ PowerPoint presentation will be used during the training to familiarize the presenters with the webinar presentation logistics, i.e., how he/she will use the capabilities of the webinar technology to highlight parts of the PowerPoint presentation, how presenters might poll the audience with a question, how the webinar and presenters will be introduced by the webinar coordinator, how questions will be handled in the presentation, etc.
