Brunswick Commercial & Government Products (BCGP) and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) have partnered to create a patrol vessel designed for the recreational boating safety (RBS) patrol officer and maritime first responders.

The NASBLA Patrol Edition Boston Whaler 21' Guardian is intended for near-shore and inland waterways, specifically aimed to meet the needs of law enforcement and emergency rescue personnel. Equipped with a 250hp Mercury outboard engine and many industry-standard features customized for the law enforcement professional, the Patrol Edition vessel has been identified by the NASBLA Enforcement & Training Committee as the best boat for this mission.

“NASBLA’s Enforcement & Training Committee was assigned to select a vessel model and option package to meet the demands of maritime law enforcement and response. The boat had to be suitable for a single operator, capable of being towed, launched and operated in nearshore coastal waters, rivers and lakes,” said John Fetterman, NASBLA deputy executive director. “The 21' Guardian fit the mandate, and the option package identified to be considered as the NASBLA Patrol Edition will support the functions most common to marine law enforcement and emergency response personnel across the country.”

“The unsinkable Boston Whaler Guardian hull is ideal for RBS patrol environments,” said Jeremy Davis, director of sales for BCGP.

The first Patrol Edition vessel will be delivered to Maine Department of Marine Resources, Bureau of Marine Patrol, and will be on display Oc. 16-19 at the 55th NASBLA Annual Conference in Bar Harbor, Maine. An unveiling ceremony will be held Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. at the Harborside Conference Center in Bar Harbor.
