The first trailer for a Summit-Participant Media feature film based on the 2010 Deepwater Horizon blowout has been released.

According to Variety, the companies acquired feature rights to The New York Times article “Deepwater Horizon’s Final Hour,” written by David Barstow, David Rohde, and Stephanie Saul.

The film is set for release Sept. 30, and the cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, Kate Hudson, and John Malkovich.
