TWIC application process experiencing delays

Currently, some TWIC applicants are experiencing delays of more than 75 days to receive their TWIC cards. The Transportation Security Administration said it is working diligently to reduce the time it takes to process all TWIC applications.

The delay applies to applications that involve criminal history records or immigration status that must be verified, although others may also experience delays. TSA is strongly encouraging all applicants to apply for their TWIC at least 10 to 12 weeks prior to when the card will be required to avoid inconvenience or interruption in access to maritime facilities.

TWIC is redundant government crap. Mmd does background check, then medical, then if you upgrade, then TWIC does background,. TWIC gives a list of things that can hold up or totally denie TWIC card, but they don’t use their own guide lines. I’ve been waiting for 5 months. I have a misdemeanor with no probation ,no fine, no jail, zip. And I get flagged and ask twice to send more info. I got a attorney. Still waiting on our government to allow me to make a living. I’m a 6th issue captain. This is crazy. Also, another cool one, I’m required to take some new classes for endorsements newly required, funny thing is, I’ve been approved to be a instructor for classes, crazy stuff.
