In early January, the National Vessel Documentation Center (NVDC) announced that it was experiencing delays in the time needed to issue Certificates of Documentation (CODs), Abstracts of Title (A/Ts), COD Renewals and other documentation. The Coast Guard said the delays were due to performance issues associated with its information technology (IT) System.
The Coast Guard said it recognized the need to minimize the effect on the maritime community and was working to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.
