Marine Equipment Solutions (MES), Seattle, Wash., has secured its first commercial contract for two Poseidon Jackup MES-C7 platforms, which will be deployed in Canada on a marine construction project.
MES did not identify the customer or project, saying only that the platforms will support a project for a large international contractor.
The MES-C7 is a modular jackup platform designed for marine and nearshore construction work, with a 440-ton deck load capacity. MES is offering the platform through its partnership with Combifloat.
MES said the platform is Jones Act-compliant, U.S. Coast Guard-approved, and RINA-classed. The company introduced the MES-C7 to the North American market as part of an expansion of its specialized marine construction equipment fleet.
“This is an exciting milestone for MES and an important validation of the investment we have made in identifying and delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said Dan Ellis, president and CEO of Marine Equipment Solutions. “We saw a need in the market, committed the resources to address it, and now the first two units are going to work on a significant project for one of the world’s leading contractors.”
With the initial two units committed, MES said it is expanding production and developing additional jackup platforms in multiple sizes and configurations for marine contractors and infrastructure projects.
The company said the Poseidon Jackup program is part of a broader effort to expand its marine construction equipment offerings and provide equipment, technical support, and project services from a single source.
