FMT Shipyard & Repair, Harvey, La., has delivered the 1,600-hp Ann Nash to Maritime Partners, Metairie, La., marking the fourth towboat the yard has completed for the marine leasing company.

The 52.5' twin-screw towboat has a 19.6' beam and 3.3' draft. Propulsion comes from two Mitsubishi S6R2 Tier 3 engines, each rated at 803 hp at 1,400 rpm. Laborde Products, Covington, La., supplied the main engines along with two 65-kW generator sets for onboard electrical power.

The Ann Nash follows the Deirdre Ann, Beth Williams, and Lulu Hamilton in the series of vessels FMT has delivered to Maritime Partners. Recent boats in the program have also used Mitsubishi S6R2 propulsion, giving Maritime Partners a consistent machinery platform across the builds.

“Each new vessel gives us another opportunity to build on a process that has worked well for our team,” said Chris Miller, director of newbuild programs at Maritime Partners. “Continuing to work with experienced partners helps us maintain consistency throughout our newbuild program while delivering dependable vessels for our fleet.”

Laborde worked with Maritime Partners and FMT from engine application through delivery. The mechanically controlled, six-cylinder S6R2 is a turbocharged, direct-injection diesel offered in Tier 3 configurations for commercial marine applications.

"Successful vessel deliveries are built on strong collaboration from application through delivery," said Bradley Matte, Gulf Coast Territory Sales Manager at Laborde Products. "Working closely with both Maritime Partners and FMT Shipyard & Repair helped ensure the propulsion package met the vessel's operational requirements from day one. We're proud to be part of another successful addition to Maritime Partners' fleet."

FMT operates its shipyard on the Harvey Canal between the Mississippi River and Intracoastal Waterway. The facility includes three floating dry docks and supports new construction, fabrication, maintenance, and repair work.

Maritime Partners, founded in 2015, provides vessel leasing and financing for the domestic maritime industry. The company says its fleet now includes more than 1,900 vessels, with its towboats accounting for more than 220,000 hp combined.
