Fairlead, Portsmouth, Va., has named Fred Pasquine as its new president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. He succeeds Jerry Miller, who will move into the role of executive chairman after leading the company and its predecessor, Earl Industries, for four decades.

A Fairlead press release highlighted Pasquine’s 18-year tenure in the maritime sector, serving as the company’s president since 2017. In that time, the company said he oversaw multiple expansions of the company’s operations, including modular shipbuilding, power and control systems for submarines and unmanned surface vehicles, mission module and ship sustainment programs, and breakbulk terminal operations.

Since Pasquine became Fairlead president in 2017, the company said it has delivered more than 4,000 tons of modular components for aircraft carriers and submarines, developed over 30 electrical and control systems for naval platforms, and expanded its ship repair and port operations at Fairwinds Landing. According to the company, these developments contributed to a fourfold increase in revenue over the past six years.

“It’s an honor and a professional dream to take on the role of president and CEO and continue building on the strong culture we’ve established,” said Pasquine. “The creation of the Office of Shipbuilding and the President’s Executive Order on Maritime Dominance underscore the nation’s commitment to revitalizing our naval industrial base. Together with our outstanding team of driven professionals, I look forward to advancing our mission of delivering readiness through increased capacity to the U.S. Navy and our naval allies around the world.”
