The Dutra Group, San Rafael, Calif., announced several leadership appointments and promotions, naming a new chief operating officer and elevating senior leaders across its operating divisions and a recently acquired subsidiary.

Bryan O’Sullivan has been appointed chief operating officer of The Dutra Group. O’Sullivan, an 18-year company veteran, most recently served as vice president of marine construction. His previous roles include field engineer, project manager, and construction division manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. As COO, O’Sullivan will focus on operational alignment and long-term strategic objectives and will report to President and CEO Harry K. Stewart.

The company also promoted Steven J. Lee to senior vice president of the equipment division. Lee joined Dutra in 1995 as chief engineer of dredging and has led the equipment department since 1998. He oversees the equipment division, the Rio Vista steel fabrication shop, and serves as the company’s designated person for the American Bureau of Shipping. Lee will continue to report directly to Stewart.

JC Krause was promoted to senior vice president of the dredging division. Krause joined Dutra in 1996 as a project engineer and has led the dredging division since 2001. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Delaware and has more than 30 years of experience in hydro-engineering and dredging. In his new role, Krause will report to O’Sullivan.

In addition, Ryan Abood, vice president of Dutra’s Delta division, was appointed chief operating officer of Hanford ARC, Petaluma, Calif., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dutra Group. Hanford ARC is a general engineering and landscape contractor specializing in ecological restoration and heavy civil construction. Abood will continue in his role as vice president of the Delta division while serving as COO of Hanford ARC and will report to Bryan O’Sullivan.
