Ranger Steel Services LP, the largest independent steel plate distributor in the United States, today announced that longtime sales representative Tom Eckel has been promoted to national sales manager reporting to President Jeff McPherson.
Eckel has spent his entire career in the steel business with Ranger, joining the company as a sales representative in 1994. He holds a bachelor's degree in real estate and finance from The University of Texas at Austin.
“Tom has been a key player at Ranger Steel for 20 years now," said Ranger Steel President Jeff McPherson. "His promotion is well deserved and probably past due. Tom will play a lead role in Ranger's ongoing growth and expansion plans, including our entry into the API 2H50 plate business later this month. His experience and firsthand knowledge of our customer base make him a natural choice to take on this additional responsibility.”
