Bouchard Transportation Co. president and CEO Morton S. Bouchard III was honored Oct. 5 at the Coast Guard Foundation 36th Annual Salute to the United States Coast Guard National Awards Dinner in New York City.

Bouchard was honored for his support of the Coast Guard and the foundation since 1985, helping to develop programs including education, Fallen Heroes scholarships, and support for Coast Guard members at sea and ashore, and relief for service members and their families in times of critical need.

Introduced by Will Jenkins, chairman of the Coast Guard Foundation and director of the American Bureau of Shipping, Bouchard in his remarks thanked the men and women of the Coast Guard for all that they do.

He proposed forming a new committee, including industry owners and operators, the Coast Guard, ABS and the American Waterways Operators, to provide more ongoing industry support for the Coast Guard.
