Zinus Power LLC, Austbovegen, Norway, has been awarded a contract by the Connecticut Port Authority to support the New London State Pier Shore Power Project, the company announced.
Under the contract, Zinus will deliver battery-powered mobile shore power cable management systems designed to expand shore power capabilities and enable vessel connections at the pier. Delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
The project marks Zinus’ first U.S.-based assembly effort, part of the company’s stated focus on domestic production and local value creation as it expands its North American presence.
The New London State Pier project is part of broader efforts to modernize port infrastructure and reduce emissions through shore power adoption, allowing vessels to connect to landside electrical power while at berth rather than running onboard generators.
Zinus develops shore power and charging systems for ports and maritime operators, with a focus on meeting tightening environmental regulations and supporting emissions-reduction strategies across the marine sector. In June 2025, the company opened an office in Seattle, Washington.
