Volvo Penta North America has appointed Brock Gavin as vice president of marine sales and service and Jens Bering as head of product and solutions management for its marine division. A Volvo Penta statement said the moves align with the company’s effort to strengthen leadership and product development in the North American commercial and recreational marine markets.
Gavin will oversee the company’s overall marine strategy across the region, focusing on dealer and OEM partnerships, customer support, and new business opportunities. He most recently served as president of Arrow Truck Sales, a Volvo Group company based in Kansas City, Mo., where he was responsible for business development and operations for both Mack and Volvo trucks. Prior to that, he was vice president of commercial operations for Mack Trucks and joined the Volvo Group in 2016.
Bering, a longtime Volvo Penta executive with nearly 30 years at the company, will lead product and solutions management, overseeing product development from design through market launch. He began his career as an applications engineer in 1997 and has held positions in product management, sales, pricing, profitability, and training.
Volvo Penta said the appointments follow organizational changes announced earlier this year aimed at giving the North American marine division greater input in regional product strategy and customer solutions.
“Brock’s customer-first leadership and Jens’ deep technical expertise and market understanding make for a powerful combination,” said Fredrik Högberg, president of Volvo Penta North America. “Together, they will help us accelerate innovation, strengthen our market presence, and continue delivering value to marine partners and customers across North America.”
