The Undersea Technology Innovation Consortium (UTIC), Middletown, R.I., is offering up to $50,000 in scholarship funding for the 2026–2027 academic year, targeting students pursuing careers in undersea technology and related STEM fields.

The program will award 10 scholarships of $5,000 each to undergraduate and graduate students studying disciplines such as engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, science, and mathematics, with an emphasis on applications tied to subsea systems and capabilities.

“Investing in the future undersea tech workforce and developing that talent pipeline is essential,” said UTIC CEO Molly Donohue Magee. “Since its inception, the UTIC Scholarship Program has awarded more than $100,000 in funding, helping to catalyze innovative student research and accelerate the role scholarship recipients play in the undersea tech workforce.”

Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a STEM-related program at an accredited U.S. college or university, entering at least their third year of study in the upcoming academic year, and be U.S. citizens. Previous recipients of the 2025–2026 UTIC scholarship are not eligible.

Applications are due April 24, 2026. UTIC said additional details on submission requirements and evaluation criteria are available through the program’s application materials.

The scholarship program is part of broader industry efforts to build a pipeline of technical talent supporting U.S. undersea operations, including autonomous systems, subsea infrastructure, and maritime security applications.
