Ship agency and terminal services provider T. Parker Host (HOST), Avondale, La., on Monday announced it has acquired Impala Terminals Burnside, a bulk facility located at Mile Marker 169 on the East Bank of the Lower Mississippi River. Effective immediately, the site has been renamed Ascension Bulk Terminal.

The 230-acre facility — 190 acres of which are available for future development — will support both current operations and long-term expansion for HOST in the region, the company said, noting it will invest $6 million in upgrades to the terminal and its equipment to enhance operational capabilities.

“Our investment in Ascension Bulk Terminal is a strategic step that solidifies our long-term presence in Louisiana and along the Lower Mississippi River,” said Adam Anderson, chairman and CEO of T. Parker Host. “With more than 500 employees and over $200 million invested in the region, this investment underscores our commitment to supporting prosperity and growth in Ascension Parish, the surrounding communities, and the state of Louisiana.”

The acquisition brings HOST’s portfolio of privately owned terminals to three in Louisiana: United Bulk Terminals in Davant, Avondale Global Gateway in Avondale, and now Ascension Bulk Terminal. The company also operates at Port Allen in Baton Rouge, providing terminal and stevedoring services. In total, HOST now manages more than 1,500 acres of terminal property in the state, including over 1,000 acres available for development.

The deal includes the acquisition of Impala Fleeting Burnside, which handles barge fleeting at the terminal.

The move marks another major step in a year of growth for HOST. Earlier in 2025, the company expanded its ship agency services to the West Coast and Hawaii through the acquisition of Transmarine Navigation Corporation (Transmarine).
