Silver Ships, Theodore, Ala., delivered a new AM950 patrol boat to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife for marine enforcement operations along the state’s coast.
Wardens assigned to the department’s Marine Enforcement District will operate the aluminum boat while enforcing commercial and recreational fishing regulations and other marine resource laws. The district’s patrol area spans roughly 1,100 miles of coastline.
The AM950 is powered by twin 350-hp Yamaha outboards and has an enclosed, climate-controlled cabin for patrol crews.
The model has a 31'8" hull length and measures 35' overall with outboards. Hull beam is 8'4", increasing to 10' overall with the collar, and deadrise is 23 degrees.
The AM950 was built with all-welded 5086-H32 aluminum plate. The hull is designed to meet ABS rules for high-speed craft, and Silver Ships says its vessels are constructed to applicable ABYC standards and ISO 12217 Category B stability requirements unless otherwise noted.
Silver Ships also provided operator familiarization training to California wardens following delivery.
