Patti Marine Enterprises, Pensacola, Fla., announced the launch and operation of a new 800-ton dry dock, already at work supporting a Navy vessel, the 132’x27’ YDT-18 diving training boat Poseidon.

“This marks a significant enhancement to the shipyard’s capabilities and reaffirms Patti Marine’s longstanding commitment to serving private, commercial, and government maritime needs,” according to a company statement Nov. 19. “The dry dock represents the shipyard’s continued investment in modern infrastructure to meet evolving industry demands.”

The dry dock is a new addition to several major construction and repair projects underway at Patti Marine, including a series of truckable tugs, “designed for mobility, efficiency, and versatility,” and a 114’ newbuild dredge the company calls “the first of its kind in the United States, representing a major innovation in American dredging capability.

Other projects are a 50’ self-propelled multipurpose barge, and repair work on a 88’ research vessel to support ongoing scientific and environmental missions.

“As the company looks toward the future, it celebrates not only the launch of the new dry dock, but also the progress being made across its construction programs,” according to the company. “This Thanksgiving, Patti Marine is especially grateful to be building – building vessels, building innovation, and building strong relationships within the maritime community.”
