Master Boat Builders, Inc., Coden, Ala., recently launched the Titan, the third RApport 3000-class escort tug in a four-tug series for the for Suderman & Young Towing Company.
“Titan reflects the continued strength of our partnership with Suderman & Young, and our team's ability to deliver high-performance escort tugs that meet the needs of today's harbor operations,” said Garrett Rice, president of Master Boat, in announcing the delivery. “We're proud to launch the third vessel in this four-tug series and look forward to continuing this important program."
RApport 3000-class escort tugs are designed to support demanding harbor, ship-assist and escort operations. With dimensions of 98’x43’ and a bollard pull capacity of more than 90 metric tons, the Titan is propelled by two engines producing a combined 7,000 hp for speeds around 13 knots.
With accommodations for a crew of six, the vessel carries 44,342 gals. of fuel and registers at under 300 GRT, offering operational flexibility across a range of port and escort assignments.
