John Polowczyk has been appointed as the next president of the Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA), a trade group representing companies engaged in or supporting Virginia's ship repair industry.

Polowczyk, a retired rear admiral, joins the group following a 34-year U.S. Navy career that included time as leader of the White House Supply Chain Stabilization Task Force. Most recently, he was managing director at EY, London, U.K.

"I am honored to be selected and serve as the next VSRA leader," said Polowczyk. "We must never forget that we are a maritime nation and the vital work the association members do every day makes our Nation stronger."

Polowczyk will officially join VSRA on August 11, succeeding Bill Crow, who is retiring after 13 years leading the organization. Crow will remain with the association through the end of the year.
