American Cruise Lines’ newest cruise ship, the American Patriot, is embarking on its first cruise June 21 out of Boston, for a 15-day New England voyage to July 5, the company announced Tuesday.
The 243’x56’ American Patriot, a $40m million project completed this year by Chesapeake Shipbuilding, Salisbury, Md., weighs in at 3,000 gt and accommodates up to 130 passengers in 56 cabins. With five decks served by a crew of 50, the newest U.S. flag cruise ship sails at 18 knots.
The flagship of ACL’s new Patriot Class series will call at Boston, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Gloucester, Provincetown, and Plymouth in Massachusetts; Portsmouth, N.H.; Newport, R.I.; and Boothbay Harbor, Bar Harbor, Bath, Bangor, Portland, Rockland, and Camden, Maine.
“In addition to American Patriot, the company is also launching three more Patriot Class sister ships in the next 16 months, American Pioneer, American Maverick, and American Ranger,” according to a statement from ACL. “2025’s expanded collection of 8 to 16-Day itineraries highlights the company’s continued growth across the country and exclusive array of cruises exploring coastal New England.”
In all the company’s 2025 season of New England cruises features 9 itineraries and five of its “small ships,” including the American Patriot.
