Subsea supplier OneSubsea, Oslo and Houston, has been awarded a contract by Beacon Offshore Energy (BOE) Exploration and Production LLC, Houston, to supply a high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) multiphase boosting system for the Shenandoah field in the U.S. Gulf, the company announced Thursday.

Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The system is engineered to operate above 15,000 psi, exceeding the capabilities of conventional subsea solutions and addressing the demanding HPHT conditions of the Shenandoah field, OneSubsea said. The technology is designed to support enhanced oil recovery, accelerate production timelines, and increase overall field value, the company added.

"Our engagement with BOE began in January 2025, enabling us to design a subsea boosting solution tailored to the field’s operating conditions,” said Andreas Fjellbirkeland, vice president of processing systems at OneSubsea, a joint venture backed by SLB, Aker Solutions, and Subsea7.

The award reflects broader industry momentum around deepwater development in the Gulf of Mexico, renamed under the Trump administration as the Gulf of America, where operators are increasingly deploying advanced subsea systems to improve recovery from challenging reservoirs.

“As operators continue to invest in deepwater projects in the Gulf of America, this type of technology plays a critical role in accelerating production and improving recovery," Fjellbirkeland said.

The Shenandoah field came online in July 2025, producing from the first of four wells through a newly commissioned floating production system that has a nameplate capacity of 120,000 barrels of oil per day and 140 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.

The BOE-operated development is located in Walker Ridge Block 52, roughly 150 miles off the Louisiana coast. The field lies in approximately 5,800' of water, with reservoirs situated at depths of about 30,000' true vertical depth.

The subsea booster pump will be installed as part of the Shenandoah development's second phase, which includes two additional wells.

A fifth production well is expected to be drilled and completed by mid-2026.

Beacon is joined by HEQ Deepwater and Navitas Petroleum in the Shenandoah development.
