Pascagoula, Miss.-based VT Halter Marine today announced four separate shipbuilding milestones for the Super 320 OSV new construction program underway for Hornbeck Offshore Services.

VT Halter delivered the HOS Captain on July 10. Five days later, the company hosted the christening ceremony of the HOS Crestview at VT Halter's Pascagoula facility. On July 15, the company launched HOS Caledonia at the Halter Moss Point, Miss., facility. Finally, delivery of HOS Clearview took place on July 28.

“These significant milestones: a launch, a christening and two deliveries were achieved within the span of two and a half weeks. It’s with great pride that we build and deliver these quality vessels for our valued customer, Hornbeck Offshore and their Super 320 Program,” said Bill Skinner, CEO of VT Halter, a subsidiary of Vision Technologies Systems.

VT Halter is building eight 6,046-dwt Super 320 OSVs for Covington, La.-based Hornbeck. The 319'6"x64'x19'4" DP-2 vessels have 20,911 bbls. of liquid mud, and 11,683 sq. ft. of deck area. The OSVs are powered by pairs of Caterpillar 3516C engines that produce a total of 6,008 hp. The Super 320 was based on a larger version of the HOS Coral, a 290-class DP-2 OSV.
