TDI-Brooks International, College Park, Texas, says it has completed a full-term ABS shipyard period for its oceanographic research vessel R/V Miss Emma McCall, now in the process of reflagging the vessel from U.S. to Vanuatu so it can “operate the vessel cost effectively in the Caribbean/northern South America region.”
Built in 2003, the 153’x30’ Miss Emma McCall is currently on its transit to Roatan, Honduras to complete its reflagging exercise. “It then expects to transit to the Pacific for a geotechnical project on the west coast of Honduras,” according to a May 18 announcement from TDI-Brooks.
The vessel is outfitted as a survey, light geotechnical and environmental/metocean research vessel. It is available mostly for projects in the Caribbean/northern South America region throughout the rest of the year.
TDI-Brooks is a 30-year-old research and service company specializing in geotechnical and offshore survey projects; multi-disciplinary oceanographic and environmental projects; surface geochemical exploration; and high-end environmental chemistry for IOC and offshore wind clients in addition to federal and state agencies.
The company currently operates four research vessels: R/V Gyre, R/V Proteus, R/V Miss Emma McCall and R/V Brooks McCall.
