As part of the effort prepare a Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will holding two public meetings to get feedback on potential impacts of oil and gas activities on the Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf (OCS).

The Department of Interior announced the National OCS Oil and Gas Leasing Proposed Final Program on Sept. 29, and it includes proposed oil and gas lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico. 

During the two public meetings, more will be learned about the environmental review process and the public will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments to be used in the preparation of the draft EIS. The virtual meetings will be held on: 

October 17, 2023, at 6:00 pm CDT  

October 19, 2023, at 1:00 pm CDT
