MIKEL Inc., Middletown, R.I., has been awarded a five-year, $64 million prime contract to provide engineering support services to Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport in Washington state.
The company will work with McLaughlin Research Corp. and Booz Allen Hamilton on the contract. Their work will support Keyport departments responsible for testing and evaluation, undersea weapons, in-service engineering, unmanned undersea systems and other functions.
The contract covers acoustics and torpedo analysis; testing, training and evaluation of undersea warfare systems; support for ranges and communications systems; and repair services for mechanical, electromechanical and electronic equipment. MIKEL said the work will complement its electronics repair depot in Fall River, Mass.
“We are eager to establish a local presence in Washington, build new partnerships within the Keyport community, and bring MIKEL’s proven undersea warfare experience to this critical mission,” said Kelly Mendell, MIKEL’s president and CEO.
