Master Boat Builders, Coden, Ala., has delivered the Barbara G (H501), the first of two Rapport 3000 escort tugs being built for Bay-Houston Towing, Houston, Texas.
The 98' tug will be operated by G&H Towing, Galveston, Texas, for ship-assist and escort work along the Texas Gulf Coast.
The Barbara G has a 43' molded beam and more than 90 metric tons of bollard pull. Twin engines produce a combined 7,000 hp, giving the tug a reported top speed of approximately 13 knots.
The vessel accommodates a crew of six and has capacity for 44,342 gals. of fuel oil. Master Boat Builders said the tug measures under 300 gross registered tons.

The delivery is the first in a two-vessel Rapport 3000 program for Bay-Houston Towing. Master Boat Builders said construction of the second tug remains on schedule.
