The Voith Group, Heidenheim, Germany, has appointed Denise Kurtulus to its corporate board of management and as CEO of its Voith Turbo division, overseeing the company's global drive technology business effective Sept. 1.
Kurtulus comes to Voith from Rolls-Royce Power Systems, Friedrichshafen, Germany, where she most recently led the marine and mining divisions. Her background spans sales, service, and strategic business development within the drive technology sector.
She succeeds Cornelius Weitzmann, who departed the Voith Group at his own request at the end of 2025, according to the company. Voith Group CEO Dirk Hoke has been managing the Turbo division on an interim basis pending her arrival.
Supervisory board chairman Siegfried Russwurm praised the appointment, saying Kurtulus "has demonstrated her ability to quickly navigate complex markets and consistently translate them into operational strength," adding that "she is the ideal person to align Voith Turbo even more closely with global market needs and sustainably strengthen the competitiveness of our drive business."
"With Denise Kurtulus, we are sharpening our focus on performance and competitiveness in the drive technology business," Hoke said. "Our goal is to consistently align Voith Turbo with profitable growth, reduce complexity, and further increase execution speed."
Kurtulus signaled she intends to move quickly on priorities. "Voith Turbo operates in a challenging market environment with clear requirements in terms of competitiveness and focus," she said. "My goal is to further develop the business in line with our market and customer needs and significantly expand our position in selected segments."
Voith Turbo maintains a broad technology portfolio serving customers across multiple industries worldwide, including maritime.
