Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) announced today that it is ranked No. 1 in the Northeast category of the 2022 Washington Monthly College “Best Bang for the Buck ” rankings.

Massachusetts Maritime, Buzzards Bay, Mass., took the top place from among 50 Northeast colleges, based on its commitment to providing an affordable education. MMA is a top-ranked public university with undergraduate degree programs focusing on science, engineering, technology, math, and business that blend academics and experiential learning.

MMA also placed No. 12 among 200 universities nationwide for its master’s program, based on criteria of  social mobility, (recruiting and graduating low-income students), research, and service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).

Washington Monthly is a bimonthly nonprofit magazine that focuses on U.S. politics and government. Based in Washington, D.C., the magazine is known for its annual ranking of U.S. colleges and universities.
