Shockwave Seats will officially launch a ground-breaking new marine suspension seat that is the culmination of extensive research and design, aimed at providing optimal protection to crew members working in extreme ocean conditions.
A New York Times article, Chronic Brain Trauma Is Extensive in Navy’s Elite Speedboat Crews, written by journalist Dave Philipps (November 2024), revealed chronic brain trauma among many members of the U.S. Navy’s elite Special Boat Teams, who endure forces of up to 64 times the force of gravity (Gs) during operations. This article sheds much needed light on the effects of years of high-speed wave slamming on the vessel occupants’ brains. Brain trauma and C.T.E. has been found present in the brains of crew members who suffered from self-harm and suicide, underscoring the urgent need for innovation.
Shockwave Seats has worked closely with a number of leading agencies in recent years to address the issue and refine a design that provides a level of safety and comfort not previously available to commercial and military operators.
The new product unveils at noon, Day 1, Shockwave Seats Booth # 3474
