Naval architecture and marine engineering firm Boksa Marine Design Inc. (BMD), Lithia, Fla., announced a new leadership structure and the opening of its second office in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Nick Boksa, founder and president for more than 20 years, will transition to chief executive officer and senior engineer. In this role, Boksa will focus on technical leadership, complex engineering initiatives, and guiding the firm's long-term direction, the company said.
Jeff Kuenning has been appointed president. Previously serving as vice president of operations, Kuenning will oversee firm growth, strategic planning, project execution, and day-to-day operations.
"This natural evolution allows us to better support clients with disciplined, engineering-first execution while maximizing opportunities to grow," Boksa said in a statement. "Jeff and I have worked side by side for many years to build BMD into what it is today. This transition strengthens our operational focus while allowing me to dedicate more time to complex engineering and long-term strategy."
According to BMD, the new office, led by Pablo Raspo, positions the company closer to South Florida's concentration of yacht builders, refit yards, and recreational vessel construction facilities.
"South Florida is a critical hub for the recreational marine industry," Kuenning said. "Establishing a dedicated presence there allows us to better support our clients with on-the-ground engineering expertise and more responsive project coordination."
Founded in 2003, BMD provides design and engineering services for recreational, commercial, and government vessels and marine projects.
"This change provides clearer leadership alignment and more streamlined decision-making within our talented team," Kuenning said. "Our operations will benefit from enhanced planning, forecasting, and coordination, while our clients will continue to receive transparency, responsiveness, and direct access to senior engineering expertise."
