10.) The expanded Maritime Job Fair

The Maritime Job Fair (in partnership with the Louisiana Workforce Commission) will take place Thursday, Dec. 1, from 11:30 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. in Hall F of the Ernest Morial Convention Center. A recent Transportation Institute study found that Louisiana ranked No. 1 in the U.S. in maritime jobs per capita, with an estimated one in five jobs in Louisiana connected to the maritime industry. Employers and attendees can mingle to discuss career and training opportunities

9.) The Significant Boats gallery

Every year, WorkBoat Magazine names its 10 Significant Boats representing vessels that deserve special recognition. The Significant Boats are highlighted as a special supplement in our flagship publication and honored at an awards breakfast. This year, the International WorkBoat Show is bringing these vessels to life like never before with a gallery of oversize prints conveniently located at the Julia Street entrance of the Morial Convention Center.

8.) The WorkBoat Cover Contest

WorkBoat's annual June issue provides a look back at industry trends over the past year. Our readers and show attendees ARE the industry, so this year we're turning the cover of the June 2017 Yearbook issue over to you. You can choose from three photos selected from our annual photo contest as possible cover images. Vote now for your favorite, or wait until the show where you can view the proposed covers and vote on site. Look for the contest areas in Registration and the WorkBoat booth #142 located in Hall B.

7.) New Orleans

WorkBoat's signature event wouldn't be what it is without our vibrant host city. Make sure to sample a beignet, one of the Big Easy's trademark delicacies! Check out Cafe Beignet or Cafe Du Monde, both conveniently located in the French Quarter just minutes from the Morial Convention Center.
