Removal of pollution threats from sunken Oregon ferry ends
The Coast Guard responded to an oil spill yesterday (Aug. 8, 2022) after an oil tank platform collapsed at the Hilcorp Caillou Island facility in Terrebonne Bay, La. Initial response actions included 4,500' of containment boom, three skimming vessels, and five response vessels on scene. Hilcorp estimates less than 14,000 gals. of crude oil entered the water.
