Harvey, Louisiana – October 2025 – Aluma Marine & Fabrication, a leading U.S. aluminum boat manufacturer, has successfully launched and delivered a new 26-foot survey vessel to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Albany District. The vessel was designed and built entirely by Aluma Marine’s in-house design office in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) standards and tailored to meet the specific operational requirements of the Albany District.

Built on Aluma Marine’s proven hull platform, the new survey boat incorporates several design enhancements for improved performance, stability, and operational efficiency. The vessel features a robust aluminum construction, advanced navigation, and ergonomic working spaces designed for field engineers. Its shallow draft and high maneuverability make it ideal for inland operations.

“We followed this project closely from concept to delivery,” said Casey Rice, Engineer and Project Manager at Aluma Marine. “Our team worked in continuous collaboration with the Albany District engineers and crew to ensure every operational detail met their exact needs. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to deliver vessels that perform reliably, safely, and efficiently in the field.”

Over the past decade, Aluma Marine has built more than ten vessels for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, serving multiple districts primarily along the East Coast. These include hydrographic survey vessels, deck barges, and service boats, all recognized for their high-quality construction, timely delivery, and comprehensive warranty support.

This latest delivery reinforces Aluma Marine’s position as a trusted supplier to U.S. government and municipal agencies, known for its craftsmanship, responsiveness, and technical expertise. The company continues to expand its operations on the East Coast and is currently developing a new generation of autonomous and hybrid platforms for various government and commercial applications — including environmental monitoring, hydrographic survey, and port service operations.

“Our vision goes beyond traditional boatbuilding,” said the company founder and manager, Darren Bolotte.“We are integrating advanced technologies and automation to meet the evolving needs of maritime operations, while maintaining the quality, safety, and durability that define every Aluma Marine vessel.”

The delivery of the new 26-foot survey boat marks another milestone in Aluma Marine’s growing legacy of supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in their vital mission to manage, protect, and develop America’s waterways.
