We Work the Waterways, St. Louis, Mo., has named Kelsey Foster deputy director, a newly created position supporting the maritime workforce organization's continued national growth.

Foster will work alongside executive director Errin Howard to expand industry partnerships, support organizational operations and advance the group's maritime career awareness and workforce development programs.

Foster most recently served as executive director of the Algiers Economic Development Foundation in New Orleans. Her previous experience includes leadership roles with the Committee for a Better New Orleans and service as vice president of the Board of Commissioners for the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-West.

"We're excited to welcome Kelsey to We Work the Waterways," Howard said. "Kelsey brings an incredible combination of leadership, nonprofit experience, and partnership-building that will strengthen our organization as we continue to grow."

The organization said it created the deputy director position as demand for its educational programs and industry partnerships continues to grow nationwide.
