Maritime advisory services company VPS, Rotterdam, Netherlands, announced on Monday that it has appointed Neil Chapman as managing director for the Americas.

Chapman will be responsible for leading VPS operations in the Americas region. He brings to the position 40 years of experience in testing and inspection and has worked for several testing, inspection, and certification companies. He has also held senior commercial leadership roles.

In his new position, Chapman will work with customers across the marine and energy supply chain and lead initiatives focused on strengthening partnerships with new and existing clients, the company said in a press release. He will also join the VPS Group leadership team and serve as a point of contact for clients in the Americas.

“We are very pleased to have Neil on board, as his deep sector knowledge will help our customers to improve their operational efficiency and drive up profitability,” said Malcolm Cooper, VPS CEO. “This is particularly important as we help our customers navigate an increasingly complex marine fuels mix and rapidly changing global Carbon taxation landscape.”

Chapman said, “With the ongoing evolution of fuel quality, emissions regulations, and carbon accountability, VPS is uniquely positioned to help our customers make smarter, more sustainable operational decisions. I look forward to working closely with our regional teams and customers across the Americas to strengthen our partnerships and deliver measurable value as we navigate this dynamic market together.”
