Video: The sinking of the Marine Electric

The SS Marine Electric sank during a storm in the North Atlantic on Feb. 12, 1983. Of the 34 crew members on board, only three survived. Out of the tragedy came important changes to the Coast Guard including the creation of the rescue swimmer program.
