Willard Marine Inc., which has built composite and aluminum boats for 65 years, has announced the relocation and expansion of its East Coast operations to Chesapeake, Va.

The new Chesapeake facility has waterfront access and provides additional production capacity to meet anticipated growth, along with an increased ability to produce metal boats. Willard’s mid-Atlantic location provides shorter delivery distances and faster repair times for East Coast military and commercial customers.

“The move of our East Coast facility to our new location, will allow us to have a total capacity of 14,400 square feet,” Willard’s director of manufacturing, Joe Nangle, said in a prepared statement. “This will increase our service capacity and expand our metal boat production capabilities.”

Tim Pridemore, director of operations-East, will oversee operations in the new facility, SOLAS rescue boat inspections, testing and certification, and global customer support.

Willard Marine - East will conform to WMI’s ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system and become an ISO 9001:2015 certified location this year.
