Jack Tanner Towing Company Inc., Havana, Ill., has welcomed to its fleet a newly constructed 1,368-hp Super Tiger-class towboat built by Serodino Inc., Chattanooga, Tenn.
The 60'x24' vessel, Miss Hazel, is powered by twin Mitsubishi S6R engines supplied by Laborde Products, each delivering 684 hp at 1,800 rpm. The boat's propulsion system includes Twin-Disc MG-5222 gears from Great Lakes Power, 5" sleeved shafts, and 52" Rice Propulsion 4-blade propellers.
Evan Houghton, owner of Jack Tanner Towing Company, said the Miss Hazel is “the first of many [vessels] in our fleet powered by Laborde’s Mitsubishi engines."
"We got the engines we trusted and the support to go with them," Houghton said. "We always knew we wanted Mitsubishi engines in our vessel.”
The Miss Hazel will operate primarily around Havana, supporting Jack Tanner Towing’s regional operations.
