Maintain vessel availability by minimizing unscheduled out-of-service time.  Troubleshoot and diagnose routine repair and unique problems preventing vessel readiness and safety.  Develop solutions, assign resources, manage costs and analyze trends.  Perform all duties consistent with the requirements of the Operating Company and Safety Management System (SMS).

Responsible for:

- troubleshooting and diagnosing routine repair and unique problems that might prevent vessel readiness and safety. - planning and executing complex shipyard and major maintenance projects

- ensuring vessel regulatory compliance

- setting and monitoring vessel operating budgets

- other tasks as assigned

Education and/or experience:

- B.S. Marine Engineering, Maritime Academy Graduate, or 10 years in a related field.

- Seagoing experience preferred but not required.
