Seeking Motor Vessel Captain

The Department of the Navy is seeking a skilled and safety-minded maritime professional to lead daily deck operations and safely pilot our yard tugboats.

In this critical role, you will direct deck crew activities (including maintenance, safety training, and equipment operations), navigate and maneuver large tugs alongside naval vessels, and execute precise towing, docking, and mooring operations.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens capable of obtaining a security clearance, passing a pre-employment physical and drug screening, and traveling as required.

To qualify, you must possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and hold a valid U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) endorsed as either a Mate of Towing Vessels-Inland with Unlimited Radar Observer OR a Mate of Self-Propelled Vessels of Less Than 500 GRT (Inland) with Unlimited Radar Observer.
